From Tide to Table
In 1997, Alison & David left a saucepan of seawater to boil on the Aga in their family kitchen and as the salt crystals started to form, they knew they'd struck culinary gold and started supplying Halen Môn Sea Salt to Swains, their local butchers in Menai Bridge on the Isle of Anglesey.
Today, Halen Môn sea salt is enjoyed around the world by chefs, food lovers and even Barack Obama. It has been served at the London 2012 Olympics, political summits and royal weddings and is a vital ingredient in Green & Blacks chocolate and Piper’s Crisps. It's available in more than 22 countries across the globe as well as on the tables of some of the world’s top restaurants like The Fat Duck by Heston Blumenthal.

Protected Designation of Origin Status (PDO)
Halen Môn Sea Salt is made from the clean, clear seawaters that surround the beautiful island of Anglesey in North Wales and was awarded Protected Designation of Origin status by the European Commission in 2014 to become the first Welsh PDO.
Every organically certified flake of our sea salt is harvested by hand then the crystals are rinsed to give them their characteristic, brilliant gem-like appearance, with a perfect balance of delicious minerals and not a hint of bitterness.
